MassCore: The Massachusetts High School Program of Studies
The Massachusetts High School Program of Studies (MassCore) is intended to help high school graduates arrive at college or the workplace well prepared and to reduce the number of students taking remedial courses in college. MassCore recommends a comprehensive set of subject area courses and units as well as other learning opportunities to complete before graduating from high school.
Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
The Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks articulate statewide learning standards for major elementary and secondary academic areas. The purpose of the frameworks is to assist districts and schools in developing standards-based curricula that guide teaching and learning. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education bases the statewide student assessment program on these frameworks.
Advanced Placement Information for Students and Parents
Through college-level AP courses, a student may study coursework that might otherwise remain unexplored in high school; through AP Exams students have an opportunity to earn credit or advanced standing at most of the nation's colleges and universities. Thirty-seven courses and exams are offered across 22 subject areas.
Massachusetts Public College and University Campuses
The Commonwealth's system of public higher education includes 29 campuses divided into three segments: 15 community colleges, nine state colleges and the five university campuses. Public higher education in Massachusetts serves approximately 260,000 students annually and in the 2007–2008 school year awarded nearly 32,000 degrees and certificates.

The admissions standards for the state colleges and the University of Massachusetts emphasize strong academic preparation while in high school. These standards represent minimum requirements; meeting them does not guarantee admission, since college officials consider a wide range of factors in admissions decisions.

Minnesota K-12 Academic Standards in Mathematics: May 19, 2003.
The MCA-IIIs will assess the new grades 3-8 standards by 2011 and the new high school standards by 2014.

The MCA-IIs are written to test specifications built on the 2003 academic standards. Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments Series II (MCA-II): Test specifications for Reading and Mathematics
A 2006 Minnesota statute requires the new MCA-IIIs to assess Algebra II by 2014, and high school graduates to take Algebra II by 2015.

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction is the agency charged with implementing the State's public school laws and the State Board of Education's policies and procedures governing pre-kindergarten through 12th grade public education.

Pennsylvania participates in the ADP Algebra II Assessment on a pilot basis. We made the use of this assessment a requirement for Cohort 3 Project 720 schools. The Rhode Island Department of Education website provides information to students, families, teachers, and administrators regarding curriculum and assessment, among a range of other topics relevant to education in the state. Rhode Island was one of the nine lead states in the development of the American Diploma Project Algebra I and Algebra II End-of-Course Exams. In May 2009, twelve high schools and nine middle schools in Rhode Island participated in the Algebra I and/or Algebra II End of Course Assessment, assessing approximately 3,500 students.
