Alignment Institutes
Achieve has launched a series of Alignment Institutes to help Network states align standards and tests with the knowledge and skills students need to succeed after high school graduation. Through these institutes, participating ADP Network states will develop:
- State academic standards for college and work in math and English that will ensure that high school graduates have the knowledge and skills they need to enter and succeed in credit-bearing courses and high skills, high-growth jobs;
- Practical options for high school assessments aligned with these academic standards that will provide more information on student preparation for use in postsecondary placement decisions;
- Commitment from postsecondary institutions and faculty to use the academic standards and assessments in admissions and/or placement decisions; and
- Validation and support for the standards and aligned assessments from the business community.
