Alabama Changes Diploma Requirements

By RENA HAVNER - All high school students beginning in the fall of 2009 will automatically be placed on a track to earn advanced diplomas, according to a unanimous vote Thursday by the Alabama Board of Education. Caroline Novak, president of the A-Plus Education Foundation in Montgomery, said this is "an important step" in letting students and parents know what it takes to be successful at work or in college."
