Panel Proposes Standards

Today the National Governors Association (NGA) and the Council of Chief State School Officers issued a draft of college- and career-ready education standards for high school graduates. The draft is a result of the Common Core Standards Initiative, involving 48 states and the District of Columbia. "This is more bottom-up than top-down," said Michael Cohen, president of Achieve.
