The U.S. Department of Education awarded Oklahoma a GEAR UP grant in August 1999. The primary goal of GEAR UP is to ensure all students in Oklahoma are prepared to succeed in postsecondary education. The following materials were used during the campaign. This direct-mail piece was sent to school counselors to inform them about the Oklahoma’s Promise/Oklahoma Higher Learning Access Program Web site. It provided a Web address and phone number for counselors to share with students and parents.
