Associate Director, Assessment Research 

Enis Dogan joined Achieve in June of 2011 as Associate Director, Assessment Research.  In this role, Enis' responsibilities include designing, managing, and conducting research to inform the development of PARCC assessments as valid and reliable tools that measure whether our students are on track for postsecondary success.

Prior to joining Achieve, Enis worked at the Washington-based American Institutes for Research (AIR) as the director and lead psychometrician for the federally-funded National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) Research Studies and Technical Support project. In his five year tenure at AIR, he designed, conducted and managed several research studies to ensure and enhance the psychometric quality of NAEP assessments.

Enis holds a doctorate in Measurement, Evaluation and Statistics from Columbia University. Between 2002 and 2005, he taught a graduate level statistics course at Columbia University for three semesters and received a Distinguished Teaching Award from the same institution in 2005. Prior to his graduate studies at Columbia University, he served as a science and physics teacher at a private school in Turkey.

Besides his professional work in the U.S., he also contributes to discussions around educational assessment in his native Turkey. He wrote periodically for a national newspaper with a circulation of around 250,000 (Milliyet) in 2007 and 2008 and appeared on local CNN and Sky TV as a guest, in 2008 and 2009, to discuss testing and measurement practices in Turkey and abroad. He lives with his wife in Fairfax, Virginia.
