Program Associate, Content, Research & Development  

Teresa Matthews joined the Achieve staff in May of 2011 and currently serves as Program Associate for the Content, Research, and Development team. She primarily works on the development of the Next Generation Science Standards. Additionally, she supports other projects including working with states to integrate the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics and Career Technical Education (CTE) content to create authentic and usable materials, and analyzing the alignment of state assessments to state standards using the Depth of Knowledge alignment process.

A native of upstate New York, Teresa earned a bachelor’s degree in Law and Policy from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Teresa additionally holds a master's of public policy from American University where she focused on education and social policy and concentrated on issues such as urban education and absenteeism and truancy rates in public schools.
