Within the civil engineering industry, there are a variety of entry-level jobs that pay well and provide opportunities for advancement — jobs for high school graduates with postsecondary training or education but less than a four-year college degree. Individuals pursuing this career pathway have many opportunities to work for federal, state or local governments; join any branch of the armed forces; or enter the private sector. With a growing commitment from our federal government to reinvest in public works to grow our economy and secure our infrastructure, skilled civil engineering technicians will remain in high demand for years to come.
