Understanding

The student independently chose to connect writing to play. The student understood the purpose of the writing (the student wrote a letter to the Three Bears). The student knew what kind of writing paper was needed to complete the task (use letter paper to write a letter) and was able to name the type of writing (letter).

1. Comprehension & Application

The student independently made a connection to a familiar text (The Three Bears) that we read during the reading workshop portion of the unit. This was going above and beyond the expectation of the task.

2. CCSS Alignment

The student is proficient in L.K.2c and d because the student uses many consonant and vowel sounds correctly to write words. Standards referenced:
