She also enjoys reading, old movies, traveling, theater, music and philosophy.

She now lives in Maryland with her husband, John, and a very spoiled cat named Oliver. Both Bonnie and her husband are involved in community programs and are active youth mentors.

Why are you passionate about education?

“My mother taught me that the passion to learn, to grow, to be the best one can be, and to be able to offer back to the world the best you can offer is a tremendous part of a life well-lived, with self-realization, accomplishment, and the betterment of the world around us. Whether you find this growth through life’s ‘hard knocks’ and opportunities, mentoring, educational institutions, apprenticeships, or the passing on of lessons-learned from generation to generation, my firm belief is that the expansion of one’s mind and spirit, and the DESIRE to achieve that expansion, is the way forward to making a better world for ourselves and others. I am proud to work alongside people who are deeply committed to making this opportunity a reality for all people, everywhere.”
