All students should graduate from high school ready for college, careers, and citizenship.
To provide state, district, and school leaders with the opportunity to leverage the tools, processes, and lessons learned from the three pilot CCSS-CTE Task Alignment Workshops, Achieve has developed a set of resources leaders can use to plan and execute their own alignment activity.
While the materials are focused mainly on hosting a workshop with mathematics and CTE educators, the process employed in the workshop can be applied to other professional learning opportunities, including planned PD, in-school professional learning communities, or state or district efforts to create or improve instructional materials (including, but not limited to tasks) to ensure their alignment to the Common Core State Standards (as well as their authenticity and relevance).
There are three major resources available:
- A video for potential organizers/facilitators of workshop
- A video for (recruiting) potential participants of workshop
- A self-guided planning module for workshop organizers/facilitators, with embedded resources including: a worksheet for facilitators to use as they plan their workshop; a PPT to use at the workshop; a sample agenda, task template, and seed tasks; and relevant links.
