Chief Financial Officer
Kenneth (Ken) Troshinsky joined Achieve as CFO in August 2017. Ken brings to this role almost 20 years of senior financial management experience in non-profit and for-profit settings having served as CFO for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), Children’s Defense Fund, Triangle Community Foundation, Saint Mary’s School and Burt’s Bees, Inc. At IAAPA, Ken oversaw three international and two domestic offices and was responsible for managing the finances for all. This included leading strategic planning initiatives, transitioning the disparate monthly financials from a product costing methodology to industry standard GAAP-compliant financial accounting and actively engaging with the Board of Directors around a wide array of issues.
At the Children’s Defense Fund, Ken began as Head of Institutional Advancement where helped increase individual giving by 15% year over year through the implementation of new initiatives. As he transitioned into the CFO role, he remodeled the finance function, oversaw a $21 million endowment and increased coordination of eight state offices operations allowing for shared best practices, improved cost model and enhanced fundraising activities.
Ken’s strong technical skills in finance and accounting combined with his understanding of non-profit sector and philanthropic challenges and opportunities, entrepreneurial spirit, interest and enthusiasm for the education space and ability to build strong relationships across multiple levels of stakeholders serve him well in this role.
