Within the semiconductor manufacturing industry, there are a variety of entry-level jobs that pay well and provide opportunities for advancement. Individuals who participate in some form of postsecondary training — whether it is on the job, in a training center or at a community college — are often even better positioned to succeed in the manufacturing sector. An increasing number of employers and industries are requiring specialized training or education beyond a high school diploma. In addition to the semiconductor industry, other leading manufacturing sectors with good job opportunities include aerospace products and parts and electronic components.
