Public Supports Raising Academic Standards

Broad, deep and fully bipartisan public support exists for policies aimed at preparing all high school students for college and careers, according to a new nationwide survey of American voters released by Achieve. Regarding efforts to raise the bar in American high schools, Gov. Phil Bredesen, co-chair of Achieve, said, “For this to be successful, it cannot be the policy wonks or elected officials, it has to be owned community by community.
