All students should graduate from high school ready for college, careers, and citizenship.
One of the clearest findings from our feedback sessions is that families need support throughout the process of reviewing assessment results. As such, states and school districts can use a variety of strategies to help families understand the information and the steps they can take based on the information. One important strategy is to accompany reports with materials that anticipate and address questions that families are likely to pose. As such, we have provided a sample letter and sample flyer that a state may adapt to its context and provide to schools for family outreach. In addition, we have provided sample questions for a FAQ site that a state may host for a parent audience. These materials are completely open to states to adapt for their own use (CC BY Achieve 2015).
